Next week, from 18th-20th November, Scarecrow will be at IndiAirport, India’s premier international exhibition for airport technology and infrastructure. If you’re planning to be there too, we’d love for you to come and say hi to us on Stand 06.
This is Scarecrow’s first time at IndiAirport, and we are excited to meet up with existing contacts and new faces in this exciting market. India has ambitious plans for its aviation sector over the next few years. The number of airports in the country already grew to 157 as of last year, compared to just 74 a decade earlier, and the number of domestic passengers more than doubled over the same timeframe. India hopes to keep growing this number to upwards of 350 by 2047.
These are certainly positive developments, creating opportunities for travellers and companies operating in the aviation sector alike. However, with increased air traffic comes increased risk of bird strikes. Coupled with risk factors such as the proximity of attractants like waste disposal sites to some of the country’s biggest airports, birds present no small hazard to vehicles in Indian airspace. Indeed, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reported earlier this year that India’s airports are experiencing three bird strikes every day.
We’re looking forward to being in the thick of Indian aviation next week at this very exciting time, and discussing how our products can help mitigate the risk of bird strikes as they already do for so many airports around the world. If you’d like to discuss what our products could do for you, wherever you are in the world, please feel free to get in touch.
