Uckfield, East Sussex – Scarecrow Bio-Acoustic Systems has launched COMPACT - the very latest innovation to augment their existing internationally recognised portfolio of integrated wildlife management solutions.
Incorporating Scarecrow’s well proven bio-acoustic technology, the new COMPACT is a unique departure from the company’s established product range; not only has it been specifically designed for use in farming, rural and urban environments, it is completely portable, providing up to 360 degree dispersal with the additional benefit of solar power capability to allow independence from all external power supplies – a first for Scarecrow that heralds a new phase of integrating self sufficient energy technology within its products.
Solar energy can save money, increase self reliance and reduce pollution. In the U.K. enough sunshine is received to make practical use of this type of energy. In farming, for example, the sun’s heat can be used in a number of ways; drying crops and grains, greenhouse heating, powering a water pump and now bird dispersal from fields and surrounding areas.
The use of firearms in farming and rural communities has been a popular method to remove unwanted birds but with guns going off at night and often close to houses, an increasing number of anti-social related complaints from the public have necessitated alternative methods of safer and more humane bird removal. Often the use of Scarecrow’s unique bio-acoustic dispersal goes unnoticed by the general public in the vicinity.

It can be set up to play when any bird movement is detected using Infrared sensor technology. Fully automatic and random play, it can operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without human intervention. COMPACT may be powered from 15v dc, 110V/250V ac mains supplies, or from a leisure battery, fully maintained by solar panels.
COMPACT incorporates a well researched and trialled bio-acoustic bird dispersal system using natural species distress calls to create an environment appearing ‘hostile’ to birds; it is humane, inoffensive and does not endanger their lives. COMPACT is the latest technological innovation from a company that continues to invest in product research and development.
