London Luton Selects Ultima
Monday 07 July 2008
Luton Airport has installed the latest in Airside bird management, Ultima. Produced by UK based Scarecrow Bio-acoustic Systems, Ultima combines bird dispersal with comprehensive data logging. The system generates compliant data reports of all bird control activity allowing the airport staff to concentrate on the job in hand – dispersing birds. Luton Airport has installed four fully specified systems into their Operations Vehicles. The airport now has a vehicle fleet capable of attending to any airside need. Roger Koukkoullis, Airfield Operations Manager, said:
“After seeing a demonstration of Ultima, we were aware that the system would serve our team well. The system is very simple to use but offers a large amount in terms of data output. We look forward to working with Scarecrow as the product grows.”
Luton Airport joins a growing list of airports worldwide who have upgraded their bird control equipment to include Ultima such as; Delhi International Airport and Hyderabad International Airport in India; Christchurch International Airport in New Zealand; Cambridge City, Jersey Airport and BAE –Warton Aerodrome in the UK; Larnaca International Airport and Paphos International in Cyprus.
Tom Diamond, Group commercial manager for Scarecrow Bio-acoustic Systems, comments:
“We are very pleased to be working with London Luton on this project. I feel that the partnership will generate great results in further product development.”
